My biggest issue's with iTunes, i don't have the time to keep deleting doubles and triples, i receive so much music from labels and artists, i keep having to spend my Sunday mornings clearing out space off my 500gb mini drive, i use a 3rd party software but that's also time consuming since i have over 45,000 mp3s. I would like to know if there was a way to just drop your music into your external drive or wherever your library's setup and when serato loads up it automatically load up whatever new song you've dumped into your library without having the need for iTunes. I love serato crates and preferred to arrange all my files using it.

Nik39 is working on a new feature for Scratchtools which should be able to convert your iTunes playlists into crates. I know it's probably not a 100% what you have in mind, but you can use iTunes script to update itunes according to folders and use Nik's conversion function to port all the playlists and the library to Serato Library and Serato crates. So you would have the iTunes library management capabilities and still have a fast-loading standalone SSL-library independant from iTunes. I'm pretty sure that could already save you some time.

If you're interested, you could actually really help him out. He needs some itunes-library's for testing. NOT the music, just the library files :o) (itl and xml file). If you have a 45000+ library I'm pretty sure that would be a great testcase for him and I'm sure he would really appreciate it :o).

I think you guys should check out Fruity loops production software from Image Line
get some ideas from their data base, you can create folders from any drive and mount these folders into the software and it will automatically load any sound file you drop into any of those folders without stressing your CPU> My only issue with scrachtlive is AUTOMATIC SONG UPDATE, i want to be able to able to just dump music into my folder and automatically loads it up when i open scratchlive and not having to go through that crazy process of searching and uploading the song myself.

By the way i love the new 2.0 upgrade, but get some switch buttons for the effects, i want to be able to to tap effects On/Off 1-2-3-4 or A-B-C-D Come On serato let's make history!
