Yeah, we need 9mm to fit in any standard laptop.

This drive will fit in a 17inch Macbook Pro Early 2008, but unknow with the new Unibody Macbook/Macbook Pro's. I will get back to you guys on the Unibody's.... BRB

Note: So you know they did not say if it was the late2008 Unibody or 2009 Unibody. This info is for 12.5mm High Drives.

The previous model MacBooks and 15in MacBook Pros had a max hard drive height of 9.5mm (the 17in MBP could use 12.5mm high drives) Although there are at least two 500GB 9.5mm high notebook hard drives (WD scorpio and Samsung M6) I'm wondering if the new unibody design with hard drive under the battery cover will accept 12.5mm drives. (A reader is considering buying one has a 12.5mm high Hitachi 500GB drive removed from a retail USB portable drive case.)
If you have a new (late 2008) MacBook or MacBook Pro and can answer that let me know. Thanks.
Update: A reader sent a note that both models can now use 12.5mm high drives (I had thought they might due to the location of the drives now)
