Lag issues with MacBook, looking to buy MBP? Suggestions?

Hey everyone, I just did a set with my MacBook white body this weekend and had bad experience with video lag. Reading through these forums I've realized that a few ppl have had issues with MB. I'm looking to buy a MBP pre-unibody and need help with seeing if the specs will be good enough. It doesn't say the graphics but I'm going to assume its the NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 512MB of GDDR3 SDRAM and dual-link DVI since that's what was on those models, thanks!

What do you mean by lag?

The video was choppy when I would transition. To keep it running smooth, which was only about 30% of the time, I had to clear the deck that wasn't playing so that only one video was viewable on serato. I tried lower quality to no avail.

that mbp should work fine, any mbp should work much better than a regular mb.
if you want to keep using your mb, you'd probably have to lower the bitrate on your video files to 2mbs, but most people and download services are rendering their videos at 3mbs.
