I purchased a few Videos from iTunes but I am unable to play them with Video SL. Any way to go around this?
Thank you,

The way around it is to buy itunes + Plus + Plus videos. No way around it otherwise.

itunes videos that aren't itunes + will only play in itunes. The new itunes + videos and music are DRM free and can be played in ssl/vsl and any other player

I actually tried this because I thought it would be a cheap way to get some video files to practice with since I'm new to video, and only about half of them worked. Even though all the videos were listed as iTunes+, not all of them are DRM free.

If you want to practice with video, try netflix free for 2 weeks and get some music video dvds, rip the vobs and convert to mp4 to play with, or you can purchase some off of some sites and experiment that way.

I have never had a problem with itune + videos playing in Serato. Double check they were actually + because they often list the non plus versions right next to them.

I have had a problem identifying which videos are plus and which are not...I gotta get a few videos for the weekend, all old school (rick james, some funk, etc etc) and I am hesitant because of the issues with itunes

thanks for the tip... my brother has netflix, but ran out of dvds he wants to watch, I'll just get those and use handbrake.

Trust me, I checked, and double checked to make sure they were the + versions. Vids that didn't work:
Boom Boom Pow
I'm In Miami Trick
Don't Stop The music
The Way I Are
The Good Life
Let Me Think About It

I alo forgot to mention that I used a trial version of a drm removal program. It doesn't really remove the drm, but rather records it while it's playing. Since it wa the trial version, it only gave me about 2 min of each video, but that's enough to mix in -play with effects- then prepare transition for the next vid,

I am saying this as nice as possible. No disrespect intended but I don't think you are understanding about the itunes + system. None of the videos you mentioned above are + videos. They are all protected. One good rule of thumb is that you will will almost never find Def Jam or Interscope videos in the + section.

Open up Serato and try to load them. You don't need the box. If they work you will see video. Once again...all + videos work in Serato. If the video is not working you didn't buy the right thing.

It's cool rebelguy I get the itunes system. Been using it for years, and the only person that I know of that actually buys music. You're probably going to think I'm crazy...lol, but one day I logged in to itunes, and it said how everything was itunes plus now, and not drm protected. So i checked some of the videos that I had been wanting to get, and sure enough they had the +. So I downloaded them.... looking at itunes today, they are not like that, but the day I downloaded them, they had it. Being that I buy music, I wouldn't waste money on something that I can't use... I don't plan on watching any of those videos on my computer or any of my ipods.
So you are correct in saying that they are not itunes plus. However, the day that I bought them, they were advertised as itunes plus, and I proceeded to buy 20 or so videos and only had about 7 of them work for me.
You know what they say, when something looks too good to be true, it probably is...

What's up SK1. I've bought mp3s from iTunes store that were advertised as "instrumental" versions. After downloading them and finding out that they were the original versions, i've e-mailed them and explained the situation. They've refunded me for them without any hassle. iTunes store is usually good about that. I would suggest you hit them up about it. I've done the same as you with some of the non-plus music videos too. I've been stuck with them though, because I had to find out the hard way that it wouldn't play on VSL. There is a way to unprotect WMV files fyi if you ever come across any. I agree with Rebelguy though in saying that all iTunes + videos do work with VSL. Quite nicely too.

Thx for all the great feedback. So I guess my question is how do I know if I am buying iTunes + videos? Is this an option on iTunes? Sorry if I missed something. About Nextflix, I have actually been doing that for the last 2 weeks. They do have a good selection of videos though.
