I would prefer auto bpm detection built into SSL, but on those tough to figure tracks, a tap bpm feature would be great.

AutoBPM analyzer built into Serato would surely only create more problems with memory/resource usage. A much simpler and effective way would just to have a BPM Tapper which you could toggle on and off. Not saying that I know a single thing about programming (which I don't), but it just seems that the more features and clutter you build into an interface, the more difficult it becomes to navigate and the more resources it requires to run smoothly and the hotter the laptop becomes! Always remember - simple is beautiful, clutter is grotesque!

I think it would be better if building overviews also analyzed bpms, if possible..

This is exactly what I was meaning in my earlier post when referring to an "auto bpm detection built into SSL".
romerom 7:07 AM - 14 August, 2006
i dont really trust software to handle all my bpms for me.. maybe if when you built overviews, if there was a checkbox that said autodetect and write bpm to track" .. otherwise, i would still like the ability to tap on the footswitch and have it write that bpm for me to the track. not looking to do it outsie of the program

BPM Tap... Adding an autoscan for BPM's in the Build Track Overviews is just stupid. It takes long enough already to build overviews without adding a BPM scan into the process.
I'm scanning my MP3's now, and so far it has taken about 2 days to get to letter "S"... As I said before, I think having a "toggleable" BPM Tapper is really the answer for this if it is even deemed as being that necessary....

load on demand tapper - with the ability to save that new BPM straight to the ID3!
Kidkotch 6:29 AM - 3 April, 2007
Please change the tapper to a keyboard key. Using the mousepad is no good(not accurate).
skinnyguy 9:59 AM - 3 April, 2007
use the spacebar
