Made the switch

CMS 4:37 AM - 11 July, 2009
So after 4+ years of using SSL with a PC I have made the switch to a MAC. I must admit this computer is pretty damn sweet. I can't wait to start playing videos!!

Anyhow, I know that there's a thread with optimizations for PC (especially Vista). I was wondering if there was anything similar for the Macs. I have searched in the forum and can't find anything. I know to shut off airport, blue tooth, disable screen savers, etc. Is there anything else I should know?

Thanks for any info!!

just turn the computer on... and that's it. gotta love that.

I wouldn't use a PC to DJ with again... unless I have no choice.

Man, aside from the DJing this computer is pretty damn sweet. I think I'm going to be kicking myself for not switching a while back. Oh well.

I would also install SMC fan control. Test out a few different speed to keep the heat down. ie. I have one speed for SSL (audio only) set at 3800 rpms, one for Video SL set at 4400, one for encoding set at 6000...

Is it a unibody?

Some people use caffenie. I also disable spotlight using Spotless (not via terminal = less risk).

Yes is is a unibody.
