I WAS PLAYING LAST NIGHT WHEN a popup on the taskbar showed up on the screen it said automatic updates were turned off that i should turn it on. anyway i clicked on x to close it out and the program just stopped and shut down. i had to restart serato which took about 35 seconds which wasnt that long but 35 seconds of silence makes a dj look bad..anybody have this happen with new mixer combo???

Gotta love that stupid Windows Security Center, assuming that's what triggered the popup.

I would check your computer for viruses using a virus scanner that supports pre execute scanning (before windows has booted). Avast can do this.
The windows security centre should only pop-up when you first load windows, after that it just sits in the tray unless something changes.
In any case disable the security centre in services.

have a look at XP tweeks...
best to create a second hardware profile for serato so when the laptop boots it gives you a menu to select which hardware profile to launch.
This means you can have one with you normal windows set-up and one for serato which can have all the unrequired services to be stopped from loading.
this will prevent any of these pop-ups coming up when using serato and also reduce the load on the CPU/Memory as less stuff is running.

I would then check for spyware/viruses, assuming you had the Security Center shut off.
