here is a suggestion ,
it would be nice if you make an FIREWIRE interface insted of USB
my opinion is that is much stable
thanks

yeah
what do you want I sead I think it would be nice
to have more stable interface Fw instead of crappy USB
( it has own power and much better bandwidth than USB 1.1! )
and in nowdays the firewire interface is more popular than USB.
They (RANE) will make it one day like the ASIO drivers ,key lock
and other suggestions but we have to spend and wait until they do oneday.

If you had done a search and found just one of the other threads where this has been bought up you would realise
1. Firewire is, if anything, less stable than USB
2. USB has it's own power, most laptop firewire implementations don't
3. Every laptop/computer manufactured in the last 6-7 years has a USB port even today not all computers have firewire ports
4. USB 1.1 has more than enough bandwidth for SSL to work
5. A firewire interace would not improve the latency of SSL

^^^ In addition, implementation of firewire, while not useful at all will simply add the cost to the consumer ... that is us .. DJs.
@marko.m - I suggest you prove the following points to make your arguement worthwile.
"more stable interface Fw instead of crappy USB"
"nowdays the firewire interface is more popular than USB"

I'd argue this point but your last 4 points are dead on, especially number 5—that's what most people can't get their heads around.

Another good thing about SSL not using Firewire: if you use an external Firewire drive, that device has the Firewire bus all to itself.
The only thing about USB that I don't like is that the USB cables don't lock into place as firmly as Firewire cables.
On the other hand, one very good thing about USB cables is that they sell them everywhere...even Walgreens has them.

That's both an up and a down... the last thing you want is dropouts and find out the cable you bought at Walgreens is of shit quality.

Fortunately, the cable I had to buy at Walgreens the other night worked just fine. It was either that or not use SSL at all.

I thought firewire800 was way faster than usb and sends info in one stream rather than 'most significant data' like usb. Fw is THE chosen format for pro audio not usb. Usb is only for cheaper hardware not quality. Having said that usb1.1 is perfect for sl no Compromise.
tweakheadz.com are awesome for explanations like the diff between usb and firewire

Faster doesn't necessarily mean less latency. As stated above, probably the most important:
