Get the macbook pro pre-unibody. You should be able to get a 2.5 refurb or used for a pretty good price.
Charlie Five 12:45 PM - 15 June, 2009
I agree with Niro. That 2.5 model is the best bang for the buck. That's what I use and it runs near flawless.

+1
2.5
512 Video Ram
2-4 GB Ram
250+ GB HD
Charlie Five 4:45 PM - 15 June, 2009
i upgraded my HD to 500gb ($100) and my ram to 4gb ($50).

17" with the DVI out for video. (not the mini)
DJ Vega 1:55 AM - 16 June, 2009
Agree. The pre-unibody is the way to go. Like Charlie Five, I also upgraded the internal to 500 GB and RAM to 4 GB and it's working flawlessly. Tito, hit me up on FB if you need any help on specifics.

What about the lack of firewire on the 15" pre-unibody? You need to get a 17" for that.
D-Twizzle 2:05 AM - 16 June, 2009
my 15" pre-unibody has firewire 400 and 800.
VJ Justin Allen 2:06 AM - 16 June, 2009
nod, thanks. wasn't sure if the 15's had that.
Millz 2:20 AM - 16 June, 2009
get the best one you can afford, but @ minimum I wouldnt go below 2.0, 512 vid card, or 2 gigs of ram.

What are you guys talking about??
Pre unibody mac sucked ass. The output was all shaky and I couldn't ever have full quality output. It was workin on the edge.
Unibody macs runs the smoothest!!
