Ok this time try not to get the thread locked.... I'm just trying to get some ideas to be a bit more creative with some of my blends... If you've fooled around with a few lately that worked out post them here as long as you don't mind a few of us stealing them for our own use...

I spent the evening on a blend of Biggie's "Nasty Girl". Listen here: profile.myspace.com
Not really sure about it though...

Jayzon, did you do the instrumental yourself or do you have a clean acapella?
If so where did you get it from?

The instrumental is from my12inch.com (Nelly Furtado) and the acapella is my own homemade version (grabbed the original and instrumental off the cd single and did some magic), it's not perfect but I think it's ok for this purpose.

Yup, did it in Acid Pro so it's really easy to fix those things. Actually I took the second part of the hook from the inst, thought it just fitted better.

Func1200> Thanks a lot! They usually work pretty good in clubs. Just gotta get my lazy ass to record some more instrumentals & acapellas and get busy for real :)

I just put up a couple blends on my myspace page that I've had for a while just never recorded them. I don't know how well these would do at a club but they are fun to do. Feedback welcome.

Ah, finally someone who has mentioned mixing with Acid. Grrreat way to prepare a set for gigs.
My tip (for live ish) is to put four measures of the instrumental before the real downbeat and after the last beat of the song. Blending couldn't sound nicer.

I've actually done some edits of tracks with 8 bar intro, 1 verse original and first chorus acapella. Might sound pretty good mixing those together. Cheating like hell but I don't really care and I guess the crowd won't either.

Another new one posted up on my page. They are all Dilla instrumentals for now. The newest one is the John Legend one. Peace.
