sup guys.....

this mac should be perfect to run video sl right..... should i upgrade to 4 gigs of ram.... should i upgrade to a 7200 rpm hard drive....or is it good to go right out the book

yes it will run VSL right out of the box. More ram wouldn't hurt. 5400 is fine.

agreed.

got a similar model and I'm good, still have 2GB of ram

and really it can run it right out of the box.

1.Open, Turn on
2. Install SMC Fan Control
Caffeine
SSL
VSL
all in about 20 minutes including downloads and restarts.

just pops right out

yes.

I made a setting called VSL that runs the fans at around 4500 RPM

still gets pretty hot


so I have another setting called COOL DOWN
that max the fans out at 6000 RPM.

mac just issued a firmware upgrade that makes the fans work a little better

I have the exact same model and it works fine for me.
