I can't get my video's to load

Hi guys, I need help. I just bought the Video SL and im having problems loading the video's. It just does'nt read the files. Must I convert the file? If yes then to what format and can I play video's direct from the dvd rom

vsl plays mp4 or mov files. and you can't play directly off a dvd. you must convert all your videos. you can use

handbrake.fr

what format are your files?
