Midi Controls on Turntables

Its would be great if Rane or anyother company developed a vinyl turntable that had midi buttons on it that could be assigned to serato. Even better would be a small vertical display to the left of the pitch that could display the wave form.
If not this, a small set of buttons could be developed that could be fitted to the top of 1210s.
I wonder why companies havent already embarrassed ideas like this?

I like the idea of midi buttons on a 1210.
Did you mean to say "why haven't companies already entertained ideas like this"?

different application but they both spit out midi (i think?) which could probably be assigned to something in serato.
