no text over, multiple codec playback (no mpeg2 yet though), but it has one feature that PCDJ VJ doesn't have: stability.

The best format that i have found to work with V-SL is mp4, h.264 on OS X.

Chubrock - Connectiv DOES work with VirtualDJ/Cue just fine. That's what I'm using now. Cue crashes once a month, but I think that's Windows. I'm hoping to upgrade to VideoSL.

My question is...Cue/VirtualDJ can play animations and slide shows when an mp3 is played automatically. Can VideoSL do that too?

Virtual DJ looks pretty good but it doesn't have the text over... at our events the text over is huge.

i have both SLV and CUE and i am currently using CUE over SLV at 3 4 hour gigs a week with NO problems. Cue has scroll text, logo overlay and a bunch more plugins that VLS doesn't. i too use the scroll text and logo overlay all the time so once SLV adds those features i might switch over. untill then i'll stick with what has been working for me for months.

Cue and VDJ are the same product.

Culprit are you using time code? I bought SSL 3 and we can't get the driver to show up in Virtual DJ or PCDJ. We used connective but, we lost control after about an hour. We can't figure it out I don't get it.

Seriously there are just more features on Virtual DJ. I own PCDJ and wanted to get the time code working with a high quality ASIO device. Rane makes the best hardware avaliable. They my reliable software as well but, the plateform doesn't have as many features. If all I did was book DJ's in clubs ya Video SL would be great but, I need the other features virtual DJ has. Quote me if I am wrong but, why doesn't video SL have scorlling text. I downloaded the demo and ya the effects are cool but, they are missing the ones I use the most!

Thats why... Scratch live is awsome if all I am doing is mixing for a club! I can't get 1500 to dj in a club... I am in wisconsin man... Weddings on the other hand...

well my setup is different at each club i play at. One club has a numark mixer with video/audio control, and i use s-video out from pc-tv or mac adaptor into that, and another pc with virtual dj which has the text overlying on it. Thats how i use it. Virtual dj should work with sl3, but I have virtual dj timecoded vinyl. I do not use the serato vinyl with virtual dj, and for audio virtual dj for me is stable but not for video.

maybe you should post that on the Virtual DJ forums.
But considering the SL3 soundcard is a Rane/Serato product I don't think they released drivers open to all applications out there.

i know for a fact it works with the sl1, the sl3 i have no experience with.

Let's just get a few things clear:
VDJ/CUE on PC has text efx and can be used with SL1
VDJ/CUE on MAC has no text efx and cannot be used with SL1
