Ok guys im finally ready to switch from using my dvj-1000 to use Vsl but i was wondering what am i gonna do with the video mixer (edirol v4) and the preview screens!?
I was thinking about selling the whole setup 2dvj-1000,edirol mixer and preview screens, but i got so use to the dvj-1000 that im thinking about keeping those.
Now is there a way to be able to use the edirol or the preview screens at least?

I haven't yet made the switch, but I certainly intend to keep my DVJ's in the rig. Even though I'm a die-hard Mac man, I cannot put my faith in an entirely software-based playback system.

Chrismo,

take a poll. I can't think of anyone here who uses a Mac and VSL having an issue if it crashing. I too was hesitant at first, but that was only when it first released as a plug-in and I used a PC to DJ with at the time. Hell even Kris P who is a DVJ user uses Serato VSL and Roonie G as well.

so is there anyway for me to keep using the video mixer and the preview screens?

from the "changes in VSL 1.1" listed on the main part of this site:

Quote:
External video mixing
In the 'output' panel of Video-SL setup area you can now choose the output arrangement to be either 'output only', 'left and right prefader', or both prefaders and the output together. This can be used with a video splitter into an external, analog video mixer for greater flexibility. This requires an external splitter such as the Matrox 'Dual Head2Go' or 'TripleHead2Go' (www.matrox.com) NB: Serato is in no way affiliated with Matrox or Matrox products
