I have several smart playlists that I developed in iTunes that sync with Serato. Using these playlists is my main form of browsing when DJing. I like to design my columns so that all of my most valuable info is visible without scrolling side to side.

If I go through the painstaking process of setting up each playlist how I want... They just get changed by the software later. I think it automatically resizes the column width to the width of the longest entry. Well, for song title, lots of times this is pretty long due to listing several remixers. I would like to be able to set the column where if it cuts off some text, no problem, it will stay put. I usually only need the first few words to know what I am looking at. The current way shows tons of unused space most of the time just so it can display a handful of long titles. Sure I could go shorten these titles... That is a workaround, but what about importing new tracks later? This could develop to be a major PITA if you forget to cut a title short before importing. I think Serato should handle this much more intuitively.

I think each playlist should be able to be "locked" to the way you set it or "unlocked" to have fields/columns automatically resize. Also, I think we could really use the ability to copy and paste field/column settings from playlist to playlist. So if I decide I want to change my setting, I don't have to manually change it in all 30 or so smart playlists.

Currently when DJing I have to constantly resize fields when browsing my playlists to pull fields back into view.

I am using a MBP with OSX 10.5.7 and Scratch Live 1.9.0.

Please let me know if all this is possible in a way I haven't discovered!
