When you quit SSL and start it again, it remembers what speed your turntables were in (something my turntables don't even do if I power-cycle them). I want SSL to remember what mode each deck was in when I quit last. If the left deck was in REL and the right deck was set to INT, then I want it to start like that. I hardly ever use ABS mode, but everytime I start-up I have to change it from ABS.

May I ask why you guys are doing that? I love the absolute mode.

I prefer absolute too. Do you use it because the beginning of your records are a lil burnt? Rel. is great for extreme situations like avoiding worn/nicked sections of vinyl or at house parties when heavies start to pogo and skip your needles. Rel. kinda kills my flow because im so used to needle dropping not trackpad dropping:)

I'm not a turntablist by trade: I bought my first set of tables the same time I bought SSL (why not go balls out right?). I have been DJ'ing for several years, but have used CD decks or other DJ programs (namely MegaSeg). I love all the cool tricks I can do using turntables, but don't have any true 'vinyl feelings'. SSL is close enough to vinyl for me, I don't know any different.
I have purchased some traditional vinyl over the past couple months, but used them mostly for practicing/sampling. For the 'purists' who want to keep SSL true to vinyl, this mode could be another preference or something.

I did the same thing, man.
I love absolute mode. Just wait until we get skip-free absolute mode. That is going to be awesome.

sign me up. sounds good to me. i wouldn't mind if ssl could also do this on a track-by-track basis--as it does with the repeat button. so you could load up your scratch tracks automatically in rel mode and have your regular tracks be able to needle drop. might be a non-issue when skip-free abs mode comes out...
