Denon 3900 MIDI Mapping Preset

Blackie Lox 11:42 PM - 7 January, 2015
I experienced a few issue/bugs when mapping my Denon 3900s to Serato DJ and started a help request. After a few back and forth messages I was sent this final email:

At this stage there is no plans to support these cd players with Serato DJ unfortunately. I've recommended that it be considered in the future however at thistle there are no plans. Please feel free to make any suggestions for future features in the Feature Suggestions area on Serato.com
This is where our products team hang out and view these requests. They use this to help decide what to put into future releases. Who knows, someone may have had the same great idea that you can +1!
Please let me know if I can help further.
Kind Regards

So now I'm starting a thread to try and get some "+1s" and hopefully Denon/Serato can work together to make this player work in Serato DJ as well as it does in ScratchLive. This isn't a request for "Native Support" per se, but for a MIDI preset that WORKS.

Here are the previous official ScratchLive presets for those who are unfamiliar...

There, that's pretty much "plus infinity," so hopefully Serato gets right on it. :)

This is ridiculous. Serato and Denon are each pointing fingers at each other. Denon said it was due to SDJ lacking MIDI out. Serato added MIDI out to the 1.7.2 release, but now I'm hearing reports of buggy issues with the Midi out. Can we PLEASE get this fixed? Pretty PRETTY please?

Found another bug (in Serato DJ 1.7.4) with the + and - buttons (beside "Auto Loop").
When trying to map them in Serato DJ, both buttons give me a value of 85 in Hybrid-MIDI mode. However in normal MIDI mode, the values are 105 (-) and 106 (+).

+1 +1 +1 +1... I paid a lot of money towards both Denon and Serato... Until someone puts out a better Product then the Denon 3900's that compare to the legendary Technic Turntables? We need to have Setato on the fontline with Software supporting these top of the line units.... Seato is the only software to get me to change over from playing on only vinyl to being more of a laptop DJ... So I'm loyal to this company for that fact... But I also love the denon 3900's digital turntables and would love to have these fully operational with Serato DJ... Please make this happen

At this point, it's pretty obvious that Serato/Denon aren't working together on getting a new mapping preset for SDJ for the 3900. If they were going to, it would have happened by now. I just sold both of my 3900s and I've decided that I'm going to see how the new Pioneer Rekordbox (full-featured DJ software) pans out and bail on Serato when it appears safe to do so. I'll have one piece of Pioneer software to run all of my Pioneer hardware (which is all I use anymore anyway)...should be a perfect setup. No more incompatibility headaches between hardware/software!

Well... I still have hope for this to happen... Serrate DJ is been trying to implement the Midi out... But still have major bugs to iron out... So I'm hoping there will be an update at 2016 NAMM.... So I still faith... Because with the New Steam Area lurking just around the corner? Serrate DJ Does need to have the Midi out implemented in it's software....

It would be nice if the software giants would play nice and allow users to use what ever midi device they choose to use with Serato DJ. Serato boosted about how users should advance with technolgy when they made the transitions from Scratch Live to Serato DJ but then they took the luxury of being able to midi map any software with full in/out functionality away. To me it appears they couldn’t restrict it with Live so they decided to axe that development team (Allegedly) and force the locked down Serato DJ on its users. I am a Serato and Traktor user, but I have to say Traktor has the midi software and dj user functionality on locked and continues to rollout more features with each update, with very minimum crashes as experienced with Serato DJ. How hard is it really to allow midi I/O for the Denon SC3900. Both Serato and Traktor Pro 1 & 2 have it. Can the users get a keep it 100 response instead of an automated response telling us where your developers hang out.

Yes... I agree... As a owner of the 3900's myself... I would like to see this mapping added into Serato Dj... I'm tired of upgrading every couple years to new products to keep up with the software... Not fare, ion a product that still seems to be an awesome DJ setup... Rane now has the Rane 12 and the Rane 72... But before I upgrade and sell my Pioneer S9 and my Denon SC3900's, I wanna make sure that its going to stand up and holds it's own for many years...

I'm looking into getting 2x sc3900's.
I know every time I try to midi map in Serato I'm annoyed by the limitations.
Is it only a more comprehensive midi mapping feature in Serato that is needed? or is there something to do with Denon & Serato? Isn't midi, "midi"?
Why is this so difficult in 2019?
DJRAWSKILLZ101 3:14 AM - 10 July, 2019
I'm just so happening selling my Denons... Almost mint condition... Well taken care of... These was my Bedroom setup... Let me know
