Loose Rotary Knob For Headphones Volume

Hi, I just added a new Rotary Fader Knob to my mixer, but it was fitting a little snug. When I tried adjusting it, the stem seemed to come out of the socket a bit.

The volume still works and hopefully I can get this repaired soon. But my question is, should I be concerned about the fader going out altogether in the near future?

Usually a loose pot will still work it will just work a bit erratically. Get it fixed when you can but I wouldn't worry about it not working at all.
