Problems with videosl using windows pc

C.Devast8 9:18 AM - 11 April, 2009
I am new to using video sl and seem to always be getting choppy playback. I am not computer savvy but I have tried everything i could think of to tweek settings to make it run smoother. I bought a custom built gaming pc with specs as follows: two pentium d at 3 ghz each upgraded from 2 to 4 gig ram 250 sata hard drive and nvidia 9800 gt, and was using vista but just switched to xp as i was told might be better, but still lag every other video. Its prob something stupid or simple but need help in a bad way. I use handbrake to convert vob to mp4 and pay to download from various reputable sites. Any suggestions would be greatly appriciated, asap hopefully

thanks

I spent a year trying to make a PC running XP smooth. It never worked for me. Tonight I did my first using a Mac Book and all I can say is wow! What a difference in speed and performance.

imma have to say buy a mac as well. i tried pc (two brand new top of the line toshiba's) and they suck at vsl. framerates below 20 fps and video choppy as hell when quality above medium and output window at full size. vsl was pretty much useless on these laptops.

on a macbook pro framerates between 30 and 50 and video never choppy no matter what quality is set too or output window size.
