It works with external firewire, It however has crashed while using.
It runs way better than the internal and the framerate is significantly higher.
BUT I was battle testing it and got the grayed out screen of doom while doing so,
good thing it was at home. This was after many continuous hours.
To be fair, I was flogging the computer, I had the internet on. I had loaded a ton of different qtz files to mp3s, effects, everything. Stressing it out, but smartly.
Its a shorter than usual crash log. I DON"T get a lot of crashes and have had great success with all the betas so far PLAYING OUT LIVE 3 to 5 hours a night 5 nights a week or more. I was flogging it at home with the camera feed before I use it out. It was also pretty warm in the room, I had SMCfancontrol and temperature monitor running. i STARE at the CPU percentage whenever I change functions, everything. I'm careful.
It crashed while I was doing nothing. Not digging for tracks, not touching anything.
Disk permissions repair coming,
I had just completed one from the OSX install disk BEFORE this session.
I can tell it wants to work but who knows with the QTZ files how stable they are gonna hold be. Seem to work fine thus far but I had a couple that didn't load or anything so they may have caused the hang.
I will flog again later today.
Anyone Serato Folk wanna check out that crash log please do.
Computer is running at high percentages with the camera loaded but within range, occasionally cpu meters max out, but little to no drop in framerate although laptop display will slow up a tad maybe.

Thanks! Lets figure this out, looks VERY promising having a booth camera at your disposal

Can't wait til the PC guys get pissed off that they don't have QTZ capability. The "buy a mac" conversations get to start all over again. I love these forums!
