I just got Apr 09 DDF in today ( I already had the DVD version encode and ready to compare). From what I can tell they look the same as the videos I encode. I hope I don't get shit for it but here's one of the videos. (Just to kill curiosity) Hope you all enjoy. If anyone has a problem let me know and I'll remove the link. Thanks!

I and Serato don't condone making copyright material available so sorry but I had to remove your link... that said it would otherwise be ages before I get any test files (not being in the states and all).
How do the files perform?
PS: Doesn't IBTL mean "In Before The Lock"? That's what I thought anyway ;-)

Yes Nathan, it means in before the lock. I invented the phrase. Don't believe me,.. look it up.

As for test files and such - all it takes is an email and we can go from there.

so is this true that u can drag and drop right from the dvd into ur hard drive, and play right into VSL with no conversion at all ?
and scott, are u guys gonna have some kind of intro/outro versions ?
especially with the club dvds ?
i really do not see the point in buying the club series when they are all radio cuts... what is the point of that ?????????????
yes u can mix, but not like an extended version!!!!
please do something and u will have my subscription for hot video, urban, club and the intro/.outro series. do soemthing please !

Henry GQ good idea man. . . I would buy Intro/Outro edits. May help put a stop to all the bootleggers! Also, yes you can drag and drop.

It is DFF - basically - digital files that you can yes drag from the DVD and drop into your hard drive.
Every Club Video disc since way back when has had some videos with intro and outros. Since we are a legal company, everything we edit, including intros & outros needs to be approved by the label before we release it.
I'm not gonna point fingers but let's just say not all companies play by the same rules and release unapproved mixes. From what I heard from several label execs at WMC, things will even out soon. Some actions taken in the upcoming months will definitely surprise you.
Meanwhile, whatever we can deliver to you legally, we will.

Not getting into that argument.

Curious what he meant.

Haha!
I got pounded on one thread here sooo bad - that even Marx from SmashVidz - whom I've never spoke with before then - called me at Promo to see if I was OK.
Henry, as I mentioned above:
"Gradually everything will be available as DFF"

question about those dff discs and titles/tracks....
on regular dvd, some songs with lengthy intros are separated into 2 tracks. how is this dealt with on the dff discs? are they left together as one big track with the intro? or are they 2 separate files? or do you have both available (choice of using either a trimmed track or a full track with long intro)?

everything? i don't think you would do that. i've spent about $5k with these guys and i have no where near "everything". you're talking about thousands of dollars to get everything.

Curious what he meant.
by bootleg site, i mean sites that clearly do not have permission from the labels to do what they are doing. here's a hint, if promo only can't get permission to do "...", then the chances of those sites having permission is pretty slim.
i would think that PO has a lot more clout and pull as a respected leader in this space for many years, if they can't get permission .. i think that says it all.

skinnyguy - We thought about separating these in to 2 different files.
Instead, we are going with one file for intro and song.
This way if someone wants to skip the intro - all you need to do is set your cue point.
Millz - haha
a-swift - well said
