New to video mixing

OK I am new to video mixing but not new to serato so If some questions are dumb bare with me

1- If I am planning on playing vsl and reguar music can I use the Video sl?
2- if I can what will be on the screen when I am just playing music and not video
3- with the beta version that was just released do I still need to buy the plug into to use it?If yes doe sit install itself on the laptop or external? I ask because I use multiple setups now with various laptops and externals?
4- will I be able to plug in 2 seperate external hd and wil lserato knwo the difference? Again If I have one full of video and one full of music ?

1. yes u can also use regular mp3s n the like.
2. black blank screen unless u associate an ambient video clip with the file (easy as drag n drop)
3. YEs u need to buy the plug in (the serial number is what u r paying for).
It will install similarly as the regular serato did when u first got it.
then there will be a tab in serato (by hardware browse prepare) click it n vsl opens
for the last question the multiple laptops... ur serial number is only valid on one of the lappys
