PA systems

Hey guys fairly new to DJing, I've been looking for speakers that i could use for mixing, but also be able to use at parties. At first i was looking up studio monitors but they are expensive, i realise they are great quality but i dont want to blow them if i used them to get a small room bouncing, could anyone recommend maybe a good PA system that is fairly portable but good sound quality too?

I started with Mackie Thump 15s, there great for a small room (home basement or small bar) and light weight. You can probably get some used for around that price. I'm actually considering selling mine.

I wouldn't go for qtx. Terrible quality.

I would try eBay for a pair of used speakers.

A bit heavy but peavey hisys2 are great at a reasonable price.

Or you could try for a pair of peavey impulse 200's or impulse 1012's

I have had all these models in the past and served me very well. Expensive new but you should be able to pick some up for less than your €400

Try and stick to a good brand.

IE

Peavey
Mackie
Tannoy
Bose

I would expect to see the likes of qtx in a village hall as they are cheap and nasty. You really only get what you pay for.
Listen to them first before parting with your cash.

What about an amp?
