Wassup fellas,

I am an old school kind of guy. I love technology but as I get older I find it more and more difficult to learn new things. With that said...I am completely lost when it comes to this entire Video thing. Can someone please type up a how-to-guide and can a Mod please sticky it. The reason I am asking this is because, I don't have any idea where to start. I have looked at this forum section for months and I am completely over whelmed. I understand audio but I am lost as Michael Jackson in a Whore House when it comes to this Video/Video-SL stuff. I bought the plug-in months ago and have been to intimidated. All the threads go straight to .VOB, h.264, Batch and etc...WTF is that. So baby begginers to Video are lost. Here is what I am needing to know so I can start utilizing this plug-in:

I get some videos from disc and some from online source (already in .vob format). I have a Macbook 2.4 and 3 gb of ram.

1. How do we convert from disc? Provide step-by-step using a simple to use converter (I don't even have a converter..I think).

2. Step-by-step converting already converted .vob files to be played using Video-SL.

3. How do we make my own videos to be played/manipulated? Such as my Logo with an ambience video...to be associated with majority of my audio only files.

3a. How to rip just a a segment from a movie or video and make a loop (i.e. girl dancing in a music video or etc..)


I Know this is alot but I have no freakin clue about video editing or anything about video so I don't even know the questions to ask. Better yet, I don't even know the terms or phrases to type into the search box. Thanks fellas, I appreciate it and I am sure future jocks will appreciate it also.
