I've got both systems...
Itch: works great if you're used to Cd players, and ableton live performances => it's useable in club but for some of us the output was too low. This is something Serato is solving in the next public release (the beta is already public and it looks promising). Itch has a lot of looping, hot start, and beatsyncing possibilities, and best of all not a lot of setup hassle. just a Mac/Pc and the vestax.
SSL: The ultimate option for vinyl DJ's. If you're used to old school mixing, go proably want to go for this option. But u need a lot of gear: A Mac/PC, 2 turntables and/or Cd players, an analog mixer and the serato SSL box (or alternatively the Rane 57 mixer). It's also not very much more then virtual analog mixing, no beatsyncing, but definitely a scratchers dream to work with.
Beware: Both systems do not have any onboard effects..
Personally I started to notice, I play a lot more with itch lately (also in clubs and big parties) then the SSL system... It's just real fun to work with.
Hope this helps....
