Hi folks. I searched the forums and come up with some answers for my questions save for the last part. I have a VOB file which i have imported in mpegstream clip and then Demuxed it using the following options
Demux to M2V and AIFF
The Demux part works fine. I can edit the AIFF file offline and what not. However, when i pull in the m2v file back into the program to mux it back together with the audio the length of the video is now double what the original vob file was..... Keep in mind that i did not even touch the m2v file. Has anyone seen this before.
I'm using the PC version of the program by the way.

Make sure that you are overlaying the audio file in a single layer and hot adding an audio clip to the end of the video clip, thereby doubling the length.

Here's how i'm remuxing
file->open-files I then select my .m2v file and that should automatically associate the the .aiff file that i edited (the aiff file has the same name). As soon as i pull the .m2v file into mpeg stream clip the total length is already doubled. The last step i do is file->save as (mpg)
Resulting mpeg is greater in length than the original.

rob. Muxing is combining audio video into a single file.
Sounds like you doing it right. Maybe create a headed m2v on demux. Rate, aspect, etc will be stored in m2v. Also make sure your aiff is 48khz, 16 bit and correct byte order. I believe it should be little endian.

oh man, c'mon. don't let that stop you. there are a gang of people doing video that have no clue about encoding or what any of this video stuff means.
