When scratching, do you guys push(forwards) into the beat or do you pull back(backwards) and drop into the beat?

I like to zig, when everyone else zags

I push forward, when doing forward tears and pull back when doing reverse tears. And so on and so forth

Wow, sorry maybe wasn't clear....

I meant when you scratch the first beat a couple times etc then drop it in on the other songs first beat then proceed to beatmatch. Do people push it into the beat or pull back and drop?

it's more of a 'release' than a push depending on the torque of your turntable... but yes, release on the forward motion...

Its a very light push into the release but if your torque is really high you really don't need much push like the Stanton 150 series give that near instant start like CDJs but handle like a turntable.
