Im thinking of getting a pair for mobiles just so it's faster to set up.
What are you supposed to look for in CDJs? They all seem the same to me. They're all annoying to use. I want to get the cheapest one possible that wont have any internal problems. I dont need any features at all since I'm using serato anyway.

I look for the name Pioneer in CDJ's. Any other CDJ is a knockoff.
You do mean, "What do you look for in a CD player?" Right?

My old Numark CDn88s would start instantly when cue'd up and using serato. My friends cheap American DJ cd players have like a delay when starting and it's very noticeable.

Yeah that's what I meant, my bad.
Thats what Im sayin! lol As long as its stable and doesnt overheat or crash. I dont see why I should spend so much on 800s, thats all I need! lol

I'm rocking CDJ 800s with serato and I've had no problems (knock on wood). I sold my denons a while back cause I didn't need all of the effects and features that came with it.
The 800s took me a few minutes to get used to. I also Djed with the CDJ-1000s a few times and I really didn't see the need to spend another $500-$600 for them.
Hope this helps.

but 800s are expensive.. even 200s are kinda expensive. cdjs are not very enjoyable they're just useful for being light, im not tryna pay a lotta money at this point.

Pioneer players are more reliable than any other brand...there's a reason they're the "industry standard" amongst CD turntables, sort of like the 1200s are with regular turntables. You may wanna try to play around with a couple different brands and also research their forums to see what kinda issues people are having with each brand and their compatibility with Serato.

Well I see why 1200s are industry stantard and I see why other turntables suck, but I dont know about how CD players can go wrong. It's digitial, shit, just play a CD and change its pitch, thats all I want. A "vinyl stop" feature would be maybe the only thing I want, so Im not all that pissed Im not using real tables.

There is 1 universal truth, you get what you pay for. Ive seen plenty of djs purchase cheap couple hundered dollar cd players and after about a year the cds arent read correctly, the cds get stuck in the player, reading errors ect. It may not seem like it up front but by saving money it may cost you more when things break and need to be fixed, upgraded

Pioneer cdj 400 is hands down the best cdj for serato. With the usb connection all cdj functions work, incl. Effects and loop features. You don't even need a control cd. Also has a usb inpur for a thumb drive or ipod backup. The cdj 800 and 1000 lose most functions w. Serato... end pitch, lol.

Dude if you want something cheap simple and to the point. Just get a pair of used Denon DM-1000! There small, light, and easy to get use. when I have used them with Serato I have had zero problems.
You can pick up a used pair for 400 bucks if you can fine them since there no longer making them. But I think there your best bet since you don't want to spend a lot of cash but people are right can't go wrong with pioneer
