keyframe settings in handbrake

TelosHedge 4:22 PM - 22 December, 2008
hey i am looking for a way to setup keyframe options in handbrake. i do not see any section to change them in. anybody know how to do it?

i believe you can change them for h264 only, under advanced down at the bottom.

i am encoding using the h264 codec with an mp4 container.

the only options i'm seeing that look remotely close are 'reference frames' and 'b-frames.' my guess is setting keyframes will be an advanced option string, but so far i haven't found any info on that. still searching..

I was hoping for an answer here too on this.
But there isn't one yet ?

If you download and install the serato preset, you will see the key frame setting under advanced settings.

min-keyint =

You want something around 24 for a good balance of CPU usage and playability during scratching and cue point triggering.

Thanks, DJ DisGrace !

But i need a keyframe every second.
So: min-keyint = 1 ??

Yes, one very second, but remember the video is somewhere around 24 frames per second, so 24 for key frames is usually about right.

Just write on "Extra Options"

keyint=20

Note where 20 number of frames.

Note where keyint sets the desired Group Of Pictures (GOP)
