vsl will work, but you probably won't get all the transition effects and cannot use output quality at high.
dj illest 5:09 AM - 8 December, 2008
thx; i can live without all transition effects but video output quality depends on my graphic card i guess, anyway i can upgrade to NVIDIA?
djpuma_gemini 5:57 PM - 8 December, 2008
The macbooks have on board video only, no dedicated video.
dj illest 10:36 PM - 10 December, 2008

lvmez 2:45 AM - 11 December, 2008

I just picked up the "old" Macbook Pro from Apple for $1500, same features as the new ones. I talked with Apple for a while and they actually said there is not much difference in processor speed wise and both have relatively same RAM. Check it out and save $$$$

Yeah these went on sale for some great prices right when the new ones launched. There are actually quite a few threads on them.

I agree 100% Macs are so pricy new but if you get last years model you save about half the money and you can still get apple care.
andrew b 7:07 PM - 23 December, 2008
i ddin't get apple care, did i fuck up???
dj vmb 9:01 PM - 23 December, 2008
You have up to one year after purchase to add on the apple protection care. They will prorate it, so it will be just like buying it when you got your mac and give you the three years of coverage if that makes sense. so really doesn't matter when you get it within the year.
XRM5 9:13 PM - 23 December, 2008
You have all the way thru the 1st year to get it. You seriously need to. Years 2 & 3 are when everything starts to fuck up.

True indeed. If a mac makes it past the 2-3 year mark it will run till the fat lady sings. Last Macbook I bought I didn't get warranty. The disc drive went out on me 13 days after the year was up.
