Can Serato take .mpg format?

So I am getting very close to getting into video. I got a few videos from another DJ who uses Virtual DJ and his videos are formatted in .mpg format. Not .mp4 which I noticed was the standard for Serato users.
My question is this: Can the .mpg format work in Serato? Also, what other video formats will work? I was hoping to take some video shots at my bar and then load it into my computer but they would all be .avi Would I have to convert them to .mp4 first?
Also, I heard that Serato does not have any ability to print a playlist of your set? Not sure why when all of the other programs seem to offer it very easily. Is this something that Serato will offer or is it not important? I ask because sometimes, my bar owner wants to see what I was spinning and it would be nice to hand him a printed playlist.

It does support some MPG's. It's right there on your FAQ's you posted. Plus, I been playing MPG's for a while. They're just not may favorite source, but SOME do work.

Don't confuse codecs with containers.
Currently Mpeg1+2 are not supported by VSL.
