airport off, bluetooth off, 2gb ram

up your ram. 2gb is minimum for vsl. you can get upto 4gb in your macbook. i have the same machine (white, not black, but same speed) with 4gb and don't have problems.

yeah i got a mbp, still using 10.5.3 i think. i dropped in the 320gb internal hd, reformatted the computer with the discs it came with, and so far so good. i got all my videos and audio on it now, with over 100gb left to work with. you doin mobiles with your video yet? i've done a few, people love it!
