Can't Play in Scratch Live??

I downloaded some files... saved them in a specific folder for my white Label music and they downloaded fine. Files downloaded with a .wl extension as it stated it would. When I tried importing the files to scratch live, I have version 1.82 which is the latest version, it will not import the file so I can't play it. I did go into set up and enabled ALL FILE TYPES and I did notice that the files are being read as an MPEG file??? What gives? SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!

Hi DJ FEEL-IT, the whitelabel tracks should appear without needing to turn that option on. It´s really strange that they´re being read as mpeg files, I´m looking into it right now. Could you please tell me if this happens with just some files or with all of them? Also can you tell us a bit about your computer, like what OS etc. That´ll help us narrow down the possible causes. Thanks.

The system I am running is windows Vista Home Premin SP1. This happens only to the white label files. What I do is download the files into a folder which I named WHITE LABEL. I then go into Scratch Live and try to import but the files do not appear. The only way they do appear is if I go into Set up inside SL and allow to view ALL FILE TYPES. When I do this, the file is recognized as an MPEG. When I go into the folder I created... the exension .wl is on the file.. but for some reason the system thinks it's an MPEG? None of the files I download from White label are correct format. I don't have problems with any of my other file. I was able to open the file in Itunes and it played ok. Should I be converting the files in Itunes to MP3 first then try importing the songs into SL ?

Hi DJ Feel-It,
Strange problem here.... Can you upload one of the songs appearing as an Mpeg to us here at Serato please?
We can then check it out. The link is here: (click) www.serato.com

DJ Feel-It,
Somewhere along the line, an mpeg extension is getting added to the filename. The track you uploaded had .wl.mpeg extension, which doesn't exist. Simply changing the file name back to .wl.mp3 fixed the file. Is there any other process / program, (eg itunes) that you are playing the file in before loading into Scratch LIVE?

peds/DJ FEEL-IT,
The problem you are experiencing with the wl.mp3 files being saves with a .mpeg suffix is typicaly caused by a windows registry key being changed. It's likely you have installed a program recently and the installer for that application has changed this key from .mp3 to .mpeg for what ever reason.
I have replicated the problem and have generated a small key file to fix the MIME type mapping in the Windows Registry.
To fix the issue, download the following zip file, extract it and run the key file;
serato.com
You will get 3 or so prompts before the key is applied. The change should be honored instantly. If not, try rebooting and giving it another go.
Let me know how you get on..
