Has anyone used USB controllers for shortcuts?

Hey all,

I've been thinking of using Shuttle Pro to assign shortcuts to it instead of using my keyboard. Has anyone had any experience using this or something like it? My computer is working flawlessly and if I was to use Shuttle Pro then that would be ANOTHER utility running in the background. I'd hate to disrupt the way everything is running on my computer, but at the same time I'd like to continue to allow technology to make my life simpler.

I have seen some people using the Powermate, but not without problems. Here's a video from the video section featuring DJ Kamron
