Did a shooutout today with rane 2016, empath, 56 and 57 ssl. I just cant believe how weak the 57 sounds compared to all the rest. It sounds just plain flat lifeless compared to rest of the crop. Specially the phono pre's seem to be uber bad. Funny thing is that all the other mixers sound better with external SSL box than the 57 by itself. And before you ask, it wasnt just me. 3 other guys, all pro dj's, listened to the set as well and agreed. How and why is this possible?

RANE has allways kept the sound quality of their products top notch, to me the 57 seems like a huge step backwards. I love the concept and how easy it makes to use two laptops at the same time etc. Would just love to have the same sound as the previous products.
