Rocking the Dance Floor

DJ Ta$k 6:38 AM - 20 April, 2013
What's up DJ's?!?!

I just thought I would share a video of me and my partner in crime absolutely tearing up the dance floor.

The video shows the venue absolutely rocking to our set and there was an amazing vibe in the room at the time.

I am the one on the left :-)

Let me know what you guys think

I don't know about "rockin'". The most I saw in any given frame was 5-9 people who were mostly standing around. The one guy who raised his hand only did it because he was on camera. The set was cool and the venue looked dope for Halloween and all, but as far as slammin' the dance floor??? I dunno.

I guess a couple of the chics were having fun towards the end of the clip.

Laz219 10:56 PM - 20 April, 2013
Well, the person that looked like they were loving the set most was you....is it just me or did most people that the camera panned over look really bored?
DJMark 11:43 PM - 20 April, 2013
That was "an amazing vibe"?

Looked like most people were barely even dancing to the music.

I don't know, the fact there is real content makes it seem like this guy is really proud of himself.
DJ DisGrace 11:48 AM - 21 April, 2013
My guess is that he's an actual dude, but the guy posting on his behalf is someone from his area putting his "best" videos on blast for whatever reason.
Laz219 11:56 AM - 21 April, 2013
Possibly, but arrogance is a very common trait among DJs, so it wouldn't surprise me at all
DJRemixEnt 12:09 PM - 21 April, 2013

Turntables are not the way to go. I would highly advise using a MIDI controller. Turntables were only good back in the 80's.

I have been in the industry for over 25 years and I guarantee that turntables are not going to be used for much longer and I wouldn't be surprised if Serato stop making vinyl for use with Scratch Live

I always think of mixmeister as nothing more than an easy way to record mixes. Never realised Numark had such big plans for it when they bought the company to have made a dedicated controller for it.
Wonder how many they sold.

Knowing what the controller actually is makes the avatar even more amusing.

For sure. I've seen a few people "DJ-ing" (with and without video) with MixMeister but none of them were using that controller and none of them seemed to have any actual concept of DJ-ing (they sucked, even with the computer doing all the mixing).

I guess MixMeister's main advantage was getting into the market early with video.
Laz219 12:33 AM - 23 April, 2013
I honestly didn't know mixmiester did video. Will have to have a look at it again.

MixMeister does video but only Mpeg2, not MP4... pain in the ass if you want to use it to make mixes, since Serato doesn't use Mpeg2.... MM does have its place though, I've seen it used at skating rinks, country bars, even some small night clubs... And from what I've read Numark doesnt seem to have any interest in all at updating it...
