Serato DJ needs a gater effect, just like the ones in Traktor, Virtual DJ, Torq and so on.
How hard can it be? :)

I will definately be changing equipment later this year after the NS7 MK2 comes out.... if Serato doesn't upgrade the EFX I'm going a different route.

+1 and please add more effects!! I'm a noob at djing and after a couple weeks I already find available FXs limiting. Gater would be great but also something like "Fade to grey" in Ableton and many more! Thanks!!!

Completely agree. Serato is very turntablism friendly with it's great mapping with the hardware it has worked with, I don't understand why they won't take all their FX to the current level that Traktor has theirs at? I'm telling you now, if they did, then Serato would be hands on the best software by far to use. And I LOVE that gater effect.

I wouldn't exactly go that far... Serato has alot to play catch up on...

Gater is absolutely a creative FX tool to use in our DJ set. Especially now Serato supports 3 FX on one channel. Love Serato DJ in combination with my DDJ-SX.
I sold my S4. The one I loved from that device was quick skipping through a track, in beat/sync. A track of 8 minutes can be played in 2-3 minutes. Ideal for shorten a long track.
If this is possible in a new release, you guys would make my day!

Just in general if we are comparing software, and what many other controller dj's want to see, quantizing hot cues as well as the ability to transpose a track are some just to name a few... From what I have heard they are working on new fx and the quantifying hot cues :-) if you check out some of my posts (the feature suggestion about quantizing), I got serato personnel to respond and they promise new fx and quantizing are well on the way... Cheers

GATER - NS7 has the best JogWheel/platter of all the Controllers out there (i´ve allready tried several professional ones and work currently with NI S4) having Gater FX in Serato would make this Hrdware&Software combo unbeatable

Just switched from Traktor and I'm upset there is no Gater, but I'm still loving the smoothness of Serato hopefully they'll hear our cries for Gater!!

You can get the same effect. Use transform and map the fx param control to a dial.
