i have always said that from day one. serato dj should have a gated effect. that would be so awesome.

They actually had one in Itch "Tremolo", problem was that the beat sync was always off.

Actually the "tremolo" will be on beat if you hit the effect button at the right time (on beat) as opposed to the gater effect in Traktor which will be on beat regardless of your timing.

i never really liked the tremolo effect. i think i used it once or twice. that effect was like a work in progress.

for the love of god, Serato please implement the Gatge effect! everyone who bought the DDJ-SX assumed it would come with Pioneers' Gate effect & all we got was rubbish delay, echo, reverb, HP, LP, Combo..
We bought Pioneer thinkng that it would have some actual Pioneer features.
Disappointing

Please please please, add the GATE effect! Similar to the gate on djm900, just use the same algorithm, it sounds really nice on djm900 and I use it all the time to make transitions less noisy/mushy.

Over a year later and still no gate effect, LAME.
Loads of awful sounding overpriced expansion fx packs but none include what we want.

Serato people, please be aware there are 2 different effects that DJs call "gate". You cover only one.

We already can periodically cut the sound using tremolo or other effects associated with an LFO.

But we still can't remove quieter events from the sound, like DJM 900's gate does.

This is not one of the most popular features because you need some listening skills to notice when it can fix the mix. However, if you want to be a pro software, you should give what separates pros and amateurs. Pros hate to be leveled down. Digital DJing is respectable because it has more resources, not because it's easier. Let's make Serato the best tool for sound results!

Dude... get your facts straight please!!
Apple has a closed eco-system, Serato used to be like this with Scratch Live.
Now Serato supports MANY different brands.
NI & Pioneer are way more like Apple than Serato.
The expansion packs give you Tremolo & Transform which both do a very similar thing.
Sure it's not the DJM gate effect that we all want, but.........

Expansion Pack - Wolf Pack - Tremolo FX is close. Will update if I find anything better.
