Loop between cuepoints?

perhaps the ability to loop between two cuepoints (in relative mode naturally) would be quite a nice addition... that way you could still scratch whilst it was looping to just grab one particular part of the record, or even use it whilst mixing to loop an intro bar or whatever before exiting the loop.
naturally this would cause a problem if you looped and then switched back to absolute mode because the needle would be well ahead of the actual point of the track that was playing, but i still think it would be a nice touch with some interesting uses.

I second this one. You could set cue points and loop between them, or even better have a bank of buttons that are one beat, two beat, four beat, eight etc samplers. you can click once and it takes a sample of so many beats, and then you click it again to play the sample, or something to that effect

I think it would be kind of hard to make seamless loops using the cue point markers, because the markers would have to be set perfectly. What do you fellas think?

on a CDJ 1000 you can set the loop points and then do fine adjustments using the jog dial. Something like that might be feasible

Also, on a CDJ 800 you can push one of four buttons to make either a 1/8 , 1/4, 1/2, or 1 bar perfect loop on the fly. Perhaps something like that would be easier, especially while in the mix.

Hmmm this would work well with a few extra channels also. 9 in/8 out USB 2 interface anyone? hehe

i think it'd be really easy to tweak your cuepoints so that they were perfect actually since you have such a fine level of control with the vinyl and viewing the waveform.
the 1/2/8 beat idea only works if you have the correct BPMs set and the scratchLIVE software is actually able to work out the lengths based on this...

Looping between markers is actually already on our feature list, just not sure which version it will make it into. Actually the feature we have in mind is a little more powerful, not just allowing you to loop between markers but also to skip the section between two markers for on-the-fly editing.
As ricochet already pointed out, it would need to be a relative type mode (actually we were thinking of a new mode altogether called edit, for example). I don't think it would be that hard to make the looping seamless, all you need is a sense of timing. And if you don't have that, you can always cue up the downbeat with the record and then press "set".

hi everybody,
msg for dev team: did you check out visionic PCDJ red loop feature? I've got version 5.3 and it allows you to make loops this way:
- on the fly using keyboard shortcuts for 4b or 8b if i remind correct, then by selecting the begining point you can enlarge it using the same shortcuts.
- you can also fine edit the loop using a visual integrated tool, which allows you to make perfect loops before using them.
I think it could help you in you searching ;)
see ya

The idea of being able to cut out parts os songs sounds great as i usualy have to do this manualy using to copies . I have to play places were with hiphop i have to keep changing songs quickly as people get bored quick (shitty clubs) the parts for mixing out of the songs are nearly always at the end so this would be amazing for me .

This is not far away, and will include the ability to skip sections, as well as loop sections.

I was just thinking this will be excellant for me . Use Mp3 cut to paste an instrumental after the vocal mp3 without rencoding . Then after the second chorus on the song jump to the instrumental making a nice long part for mixing or cuts , cant wait :)

Still sounds very cool.
I would like to know how many of you guys would use looping and for what. Also what do you think about the ability to set the number of times a loop will be repeated. A kind of very basic sequencer. This would allow to get rid of all crap wicked mix etc, just build your own mixable songs on the fly.

i would like this option too....i kinda like my files to keep it's original form...creating a copy to alter only eats up more HD space.
