How do i transfer my m3u playlists on my laptop to my new 250gig external harddrive? can this be done without having to rebuild all the playlist?

just got an 8gig flash drive, good or bad idea to use it as an external harddrive for my small gigs that guess dj at and they already have a serato setup?
