Is anyone still using 1.3 version?

DJ CASH 4:34 PM - 9 November, 2005
The first time i played whith 1.4 it crashed!
So i´m playing with 1.3 and it works
what you think about the 1.4 version and who is still playing 1.3?
dojostudio 5:12 PM - 9 November, 2005
i am on a mac and 1.4 was giving me Kernel Panics (OS CRASH)!

i reverted to V 1.3 and it's solid as a rock.

why? no clue. but it works.

The small additions to 1.4 have made me stay with 1.3 as it is a solid performer. Also, I do plan to upgrade to 1.5

I am also still using 1.3, We are a very active DJ group in California, and all of us who have upgraded to 1.4 (about 5 of us), they all have crashed. That's why I am hesitant to upgrade.

is it normal that when scratching very very slowly the sound is fucked up? haven´t had this issue with the earlier versions , if i remember right
DJ Smooth G 3:59 PM - 15 November, 2005
Just upgraded to 1.4 this weekend and I had no crashes but a few tracks sounded funny. Some for a split second sounded like it warped and a couple poped. Dont know if it was the tracks or the 1.4 yet. But I feel like the 1.3 worked better also. Thinking of going back...

Kit: PowerBook G4 12inch, 756MB, 60GIG HHD, OSX 10.1, iTunes 6.

I upgraded from 1.3 to 1.4 about a month ago for the new features and have since experienced all the aforementioned pops, freezes, glitches and crashes. Thought moving to 1.6.2 last week would fix things but instead it got worse, damn thing crashed repeatedly on me at a club last Saturday night!!! (thank God I always bring vinyl as back-up!!).... I’m at this very moment re-installing v1.3 as it was always rock solid.

Really hope the Rane/Serato Guys can stabilize the newer software releases as major bugs like this can mean hurt the confidence in the product.

Still rocking 1.3
sixxx 6:04 PM - 31 October, 2006
1.3 rock solid? mmmh. No.

Not for me at least. 1.3 was the only version I crashed with if I remember correctly.

Anyway, stick with what works for you.

Fully aware that different versions of the software work differently for everyone. That's why i'll be definately sticking with what works for me, v1.3. I'll be testing 1.6.2 at home though to see if i can spot anything in my set-up that could be causing the problems.

Yup. OS 10.1 is probably one of the worst OS X's around.

I think 10.3.9 is the most solid.

It always amazes me how people dont update their shit.

They release these updates to fix the damn bugs you are complaining about.
grrillatactics 3:09 PM - 2 November, 2006
Same as d:raf, 10.3.9 and 1.6.2 and I have no issues at all. And once you start giving some of the new features a test drive, you realize how much more you are capapble of as a DJ.

from the faq:

The minimum operating system requirements are either a 800 MHz Mac G4 with OSX 10.3, or a 1GHz PC running Windows XP with Service Pack 2, either with 512M of ram or more. The minimum supported screen resolution is 1024x768.

time to update the os.

OSX 10.1? I'm willing to bet that's the source of your issues with version 1.6. Get OSX 10.3 if you can; I'm on 10.3.9 and 1.6.2 works great...

sorry guys, slight typo.....im using OSX 10.4. My problems began when i moved to v1.4 and started using ITunes v6. Are there any known problems with these two software versions?
