Sound techs help me out.....
i need 2 small powered subs for my small mobile gigs.
these are 2 of the best small powered subs i know of but im not sure wich is best. are there any better powered subs in THIS size range?
i have the big bottoms already and KV's are a hell to the no.

What about QSC's HPR 15" model? I wouldn't even consider the JBL PRX model (I don't like them at all).

Yorkville, I am impressed by their equipment. All the way with the LS700P, or even better the LS800P (rockin' 2 of them).

Do you mean the KV2s are a hell to the no?

Aren't those studio monitors or something? Never seen a KRK that you could do an event with. Maybe I'm wrong though.

the KVs cost too much for my pockets

About how much do the KV2's cost? I was searching for them awhile back.
I couldn't find a price. I heard they were pretty expensive. I'm curious
about how much a couple of KV tops and a sub would cost, anybody know? I'm
just looking for a ballpark figure.

about $2000 a speaker

EX2.2 runs about $1800
2 12's by 1000 watts.

smaller than a Mackie 1801 and twice and loud.
I am saving for one of those. Well worth two Mackies, go hear one if you can.

I do not like the 15" powered mackies at all. The all sound like shit after a while. The 18s are okay, but bulky and break a lot. (Let your powered speakers cool 30-60 minutes before moving them to extend time between repairs)

Thanks for the info guys. I wish there was somewhere for me to demo those.
When I get the money I'll probably buy them anyway without hearing them. I was looking for a small system that has big bang. KV seems to fit the bill. Expensive as hell, but they would fit what I need. I have to liquidate everything I have now though. Trying to sell now.

Are they really worth the price?
matt212 2:09 AM - 20 January, 2008
Yessir...well at least to me. I got mine before the prices went up.

I have a couple friends that run a company with some of the ES stacks.

18" on the bottom
15" sub in the middle
Horns on tops
all coming off of one power pack.

total of six stacks

serious system

they also have like ten of the EX10s for monitors (they do live music)

needless to say, hearing them is nice.

I pretty much thought it only about EAW or turbosound for high-end systems, but these things are nice.

matt212...when did the prices go up?
matt212 2:27 AM - 20 January, 2008
I don't know actually when, but this was the ESC price list when I got mine in May 06.

KV2:

KX1.2 799.00
KX1.5 999.00
EX10 1399.00
EX12 1749.00
EX2.2 1499.00
EX2.5 2199.00

Free shipping on all orders – All orders will receive a free ESC T Shirt (please indicate size.)

Sale ends Sunday midnight 4/23/06

Thanks,

Bill

Prices went up February 1, 2007. It was basically a 25% increase across the board. This was to make sure the manufacturing was able to stay in Europe rather than move to China.

Luckily I purchased all mine before the prices changed. If I had to do it again I would still look into the KV2 EX series or the RCF TT Series.

Ah sh-t, if that what it takes to keep my quality purchases from being manufactured in China, I'd pay the 25% difference too.

I still want some KV2 stuff but if they ever start to manufacture in China, I'd be seeking the older European versions.

What about the yorkville 720p. The specs say they're lighter than the LS700's. Are there any other suggestions out there on powered subs that are light weight?

My B52 powered subs are getting too heavy, but the big sound has me some what spoiled. So I need at least 700 watts per speaker
