Funny, we used to do "dance marathons" to raise money for my high school's FM radio station. They were kind of the highlight of the school year. But they were DJ'ed in shifts, by the students, and ran a full 24 hours (not kidding).

If you're doing that by yourself, at the very least you should take a 1/2-hour break in the middle where you can play something pre-mixed.

100 GB? Really?

At a weekly residency, I usually play about 160 - 220 songs, from 10pm to 2am or 2:30. So let's take 200 songs as the average, at 4 hours. 12 hours would probably require 600 songs?

600 songs == 100 GB?

Oh come on... back in my day we used to do the Charleston for over 24 hours and the bands never ran out of music!

lol Yeah, expect to repeat stuff... you'll probably be the equivalent of a radio station that actually mixes - lots of top 40 requests and they'll request the same ones hours later.

What, you mean all of your songs aren't in High-def format? lol.

Actually, better yet, just put soulja (why the hell is that spelled like that? I mean I see Ja, and Soul but he isn't god, and he clearly doesn't have a soul anymore.) on repeat and leave.

i dj a ton of events for "relay for life", run by the american cancer society. Most go at least 12 hours. usually there are family members there also, so make sure all your stuff is clean. basically you just have to play a little of everything. nothing too slow that will make the crowd tired. usually they will also have events or games going on that they put together, otherwise... have a dance contest, bring some hula hoops, or do other games like that. also, im the type of dj that is always changing the songs and doing remixes... when you are goin for that long, PLAY THE WHOLE SONGS! in fact, its one of the few times i like breaking out all the ultimixes and funkymixes - get that extra minute or 2 out of each song! people will ask you to play the same song multiple times. im normally against it, but thats for 4 and 5 hour gigs! dont feel bad if you start repeating a few songs at hour 6 or 8 if the audience wants it! and bring red bull. enjoy.

6.29? good luck
