I upgraded to LION 10.7.3 and I will be djing and the sound will cut out from anywhere from 5-10 seconds. The wave form will be gone at that point too. I have 2 external lacie rugged 1tb drives that are cloned I tried both drives and they both have the same problem with video play back cutting out. I upgraded my SL software and just updated to serato video to see if that would fix it but it doesn't. My external drives are firewire 800 too. I have tried to mess with the buffer settings too. I also have 8gigs of ram on order. Please help me with this issue I have to dj video next week.

It works fine its just some songs that skip or cut out for a few seconds. It happened with a few non videos tonight too.

Hi DJ G CLEVELAND,
Have you re-analyzed your Scratch Live library in either 2.3.3 or 2.4.1 after upgrading ?
If not I suggest you do. Also, remove any corrupt files from your Scratch Live library.
Do you have Perian installed on your Mac ? We recommend that all Video-Sl/Serato video users on a Mac OS download and install Perian. Perian is a free, open source QuickTime component that adds native support for many popular video formats. Download perian here: perian.org
I would also suggest rebuilding your database V2 file after re-analyzing your files.

The NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB is at the lower end of graphics cards and I would suggest that mixing 1080p or 720p video files on both decks with effects may result in less than desired results.
What format are your hard drives ?
do you use a powered USB Hub ?
Let me know if any of these tweaks help and we will take it from there.

Its actually the NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT that outputs externally.
No usb hub.
The issue is resolved since re-analyzing. I need to wipe one of my cloned hard drives still because it didn't pick up on the fact that things were re-analyzed.
