I downloaded the Serato Video plug-in to test it out in ITCH, and when my Sixty-One came in today I installed 2.4 and then saw Video under the plug ins, so went ahead and tried it (no idea why the Beta Plug-In is working on the actual 2.4 release software but not going to complain). Anyways, I start to map my mixer to various things including Serato Video crossfaders and upfaders. I start playing around with a few Videos and notice the transitions do not look right at all, then I realize it is because I use the mixer hamster/reverse and the fader isn't sending the signal in reverse to the software. Then I remember that in Video-SL there is an option for crossfade reverse under the plug-in's tab under software. I go to this and don't find anything of the sort.

My previous (well still have) set-up is an SL3 box and Vesetax PMC-05 Pro IV mixer. When I would hit the reverse switch on that mixer, the video would go as expected. Also the video works fine with the transitions on my VCI-300 MK II in ITCH also with the crossfader hamster style. Any ideas or is this something missing from Serato Video that was in Video-SL or something to do with my mixer?

Found a work around, instead of letting Serato native control it, I assigned the fader myself and pressed tab to reverse the mapping to work in line with my crossfader being reversed. Any idea if it is supposed to work natively like that when you hit the reverse it should reverse the video crossfade too no?

One side is not working right. When it is in reverse the right deck audio (fader to the left for hamster) there is still remnants of the left deck's video on screen even though the audio is not playing through. However on the opposite side, there are no remnants and working how it should. I can see on the side that is leaving remnants, that the fader in Scratch Live is not reading all the way closed even though the sixty-one is all the way closed. I do not have an issue with remnants being left behind when the fader is in native (before assigning it MIDI-wise) but in order to make the video crossfader reverse, looks like I have to assign it through MIDI for the time being.

Hi Solidsnake,

At this stage the 'REVERSE' function on the Rane Sixty Two does not apply to video streams.

Do you have image bleed from alternate channels when you are not using the reverse/hamster switch ?

Are you sure when you MIDI map the crossfader with Fader Link OFF that this actually swaps the video stream ?

It is almost as if the fader isn't being read all the way to the closed point. It is doing the same even while the crossfader is normal.

What do you mean exactly by swapping the video stream? The new video is brighter than the video that is "bleeding" through but it still isn't closing out the other video.

Alright tried it with a few different transition effects, Luma Fade Key was originally the one that was bleeding through. On effects like 2X2 Grid when it is transistioned to the other side you can still part of the box like the video isn't making the whole transition however to the other side there are no issues.

im having the same problem with my rane 62 and the new Serato Video..
I tried so many different ways to try to get it fixed but still no luck.

seriously, the old verison was better, they need to release a new firmware for rane 61 n 62 and a new version of Serato Video...

mad ass hell, already ruined 2 of my gigs

problem is, i cant even map my fader.. majority of the midi's on this rane 62 arent mappable..

its been 3months. wheres teh update wheres the fix?
i spent 2000 on this mixer
can i jus have my old serato video-sl plz?

The Serato Video channel fader and crossfader are natively mapped for the Rane Sixty Two.

If you want more MIDI assignable buttons then download and test the Scratch Live 2.4.2 Public Beta.
