Last night was the third time playing at a club that this happened to me. I'm playing for an hour or so, then all of a sudden my hot cues stop working. I regularly use a ttm57 at my residency and there are no issues. But the last three times over the past few weeks this has happened to me. The first time was using a Rane 68, then the second two times using an SL-4. I had to mix in a CD three times last night so I could restart Serato, which fixes the problem until it happens again.

This is NOT an issue with "Playback keys use shift" in the setup.

Spoke to two other DJs today and they said the same thing happens to them when using the SL-4 & 68 as well. I've also read other people on these forums having the same problem, with no one to offer a real solution yet.

I'm thinking that it may be a bug?

Thanks for your help.

Are you sure you have the deck focus boxes set to the correct deck? With the SL4 and 68, since there are four decks, you have to share keyboard shortcuts between the decks, but pressing your tilde key (~) toggles between the decks. Most likely you switched control to the other decks, which is why the keyboard shortcuts didn't work. Well, the worked, just on the other decks.

So, the way to tell which decks are in focus is they'll have the white flashing outline box around the decks. Those are the one that have keyboard shortcut control. Again, pressing your tilde key on your keyboard will toggle the white outline box between the decks. The tilde key is below the escape key and left on the top row number 1 key.

That's possible actually. I'll look out for that next time. Why would they make that the toggle button, being so close to the 1 key? It should at least be ctrl + ~

Thanks for your help!

Konix suggestion is the most likely of answers. Many people use those devices for two decks and if the focus is on the other 2 decks (which you don't see) then the cues would be linked to them and not the two decks you are using.

I like your suggestion about needing an additional key since the ~ is so close to the 1. Good suggestion :)
