Hey guys I stepped up from an SL1-SL4 and I'm having a sampling issue. On the SL1
the sampler worked any side of the decks, now with the SL4 you have to push the numbers or the letter on the right side of the sampler for it to work for the right deck. (Please excuse my explanation of this problem I don't have the product in front of me @ the moment)

That's how it works with the SL4, since it has a lot more outputs than the SL1, simple left or right doesn't quite work for the SL4. You must choose which output you want the sampler slots to go out of. Note you can set each slot individually to go out a certain output (all independantly too) or set the slot to master and it will go out whichever output you have selected in the master section (the one on the right side as you mentioned).
