Got turntables and a mixer for my 18th birthday and now i'm 21 and still a student.

Got my first tech's at 13 and havent stopped, im 32 now

Age 15, played on belt drive turntables...one had pitch, the other didn't...it wasn't until about 2 months later that I figured out what the pitch was for...then the beatmixing began! Messed around 15-21 years old, then stopped for about 8 years and got back into it at 29, now I'm 34.

I am glad I wasn't the only guy to start late. I thought everyone started around 15. By the time I get real good. People will be mixing and blending from their bluetooth brain sets.

29, now 34. Trying to get this thing off the ground. I've had all my stuff, and just kept upgrading until I came across Seato. There is no other out there, Serato is the BEST!!!!!

18. Went to guitar center and copped a dj in a box after seeing it in the back of the source. 25 now managing a pharmacy.

15, now 28, soon to be Police Officer! Its a hobby and will never be a job! Love DJ'n in clubs, but me becoming the next DJ AM or a famous DJ is not gonna happen!

Plus I enjoy the adrenaline rush of chasing people!

I was 28 and I'm 24 now...lol. but for real my girl got me a pair of ttx's (19) and I just had them in a room till they got jacked... So, I went out and got a book called (How to DJ right) and then started to work on becoming a Professional DJ @ the age of 22. I would say I've been doing it since then, that's 2 years. By "Professional" I don't mean radio or club.. Maybe, but I just want to be able to DJ anything, anytime, anywhere and really understand all Aspects of DJing. For me it's not the music or anything like that, it's the feeling I get when I bring a family together to have fun! Knowing I have the power to bring my family &/or friends together anytime feels great!!!!

so u started a year ago...and also have had a gig for one year? either ur playing for a crowd without many options or u learned pretty damn quick. I didn't have a residency gig until almost 3 yrs after. that and I was under age.

Under age when I started in clubs, but only way that occurred was I was interning for a station in Miami, clubs technically had to let me in cuz I was the DJ! It was great!

Started messing around with my brother's setup when I was 5 (1981). Saved up to buy my own mickey mouse setup by 11 (1987). At 13 (1989) I had my own semi pro-setup and started doing house parties for the family and friends of the family. By 15 (1991) got my first big-time gig for a company x-mas party down in Wall Street. The rest is history.

So depending how you look at it. I been in the game for 26 years.

I still do the club scene as well as guest spots on radio. I started my own financial firm a couple of years ago.

Started by DJ'n my middle school dance in 7th grade w/ a belt driven TT and a cassette player.... LOL! Now after numerous years in Radio / mobile / club gigs, Im 32 & enjoying the club residency & mix tapes out the back & teaching my 5 year old daughter how to DJ.....Is that OG....Ha Ha

Started by making mixtapes by just using the pause button on my tape deck, i would do remixes and full cut/mix tapes, it took me two days to get 30 minutes, but I came up with some awesome remixes.

I had a pair of belt drive TT's and a really crappy radio shack mixer. I used those for about 2 years. Man, when I got my technics it was instant awesomeness!

got my first taste in 1983, made cut tapes in 1989 then i actually started in 1990-1991 with my first ghetto set of TT with a pyramid

18, just turned 21 and almost finished my construction engineering degree!

Learned beatmatching in 1978 at the age of 12 on my friends older brothers setup(, got my first dj setup for my 13th birthday which was 1 Technics SLb 10 (belt drive) and a Clubman 1-1 mixer. I allready had a Panasonic standard TT with no pitch control.
I Mixed with this like a champ and really was dedicated, shorly after I got the second B 10. Within a year or so afterwards 2 1200s a Bozak and some 20 crates of records was given to me by a DJ who was getting out of it and wanted to see me make something with it. I had many "make me a tape" requests from the older guys who had cars I remember doing Weddings, Block Partys and Sweet sixteens at the age of 14. Im going to be 42 in March giving me 30 years in the Mix.

18 and I'm 34 now...When I first saw the 1990 DMC Competition. I told myself this is the hobby that is gonna stay with me for the rest of my life bought myself a Gemini mixer with a sampler and one turntable (Sl1200mk2).

I scratched till my hands and arms go numb the funny part is I learned scratching first before blending and mixing since I only have one turntable for about 2 years.

Back then I was all Hiphop and Top 40 and then learned not to trust the Radio Stations. There's alot of music out there waiting to be discovered.

Pops bought me some tape decks, Radio Shack mixer, and SOme belt driven Tables..
I used to bump in the room with a reciever, some tweeters, and a plexiglass boxed subwoofers.

DJ Kase's 10th year anniversary in February. It was in 2/98 when I got my first rig by using my first financial aid check. Great investment.
