What kind of music do I play for blind crowd?

DJ Greg J 12:20 AM - 7 December, 2011
These muthafuckaz is blind! I don't know what to do, I can't tell if they're having a good time because they keep running into each other and falling over. Some of them want to tell me what they want to hear but they can't find me. I want them to leave the party happy and go home and tweet about how much fun they had. What do I do?!?!
DJ Greg J 12:39 AM - 7 December, 2011
sorry for this thread, I'm being an asshole
Mic Terror 12:40 AM - 7 December, 2011
I worked with a Blind Deaf guy so I might be able to help
First of all you need to educate yourself on blind people. That's no disrespect, just that people with disabilities have certain ways they want to be treated per that disability and if you know this they will respect you more. If it's a totally blind crowd, you may want to ask the venue to incorporate request takers who walk around asking for requests. The Request person can relay the request to you. You may also want to see if the venue can open up an hour early so that they have time to find the DJ booth ahead of time. Take it as a positive that you have a disabled crowd, you are providing a service that they probably don't get from just anybody. You have a niche market that you can grow.

Im going to a wedding in a couple weeks where half the people are going to be deaf. They told the dj company(complete music and video), and they said they understand and will work with it, but i have a feeling they will just throw an extra light or two up there. I told them if it was my gig i would break out a couple extra subs and do video mixing with a crazy light show. But since I live on the other side of the country and just flying in for a couple nights i cant do it.
DJ EZSMOOTH 1:23 PM - 8 December, 2011
You shoulda seen the light show i brought to this one party for the blind. They thought the shit was nuts!
Dj-M.Bezzle 4:00 PM - 8 December, 2011

slimmjimm 7:07 PM - 8 December, 2011
Just a random question, as I know not all "blind" people are completely blind, but why would you bring and awesome light show for them to see, if they're probably not able to?
